The Future of Family Medicine: The Brown Family Medicine Residency Class of 2010

The Brown Family Medicine Residency at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island held its graduation ceremony on June 18, 2010.
Graduates included: Hoda Eltomi, MD, who will join Manet Community Health Center in Quincy, MA, where she will also coordinate the medical student clerkship; Linh Huynh, MD, will practice in Allston, MA affiliated with St. Elizabeth’s Hospital;
Mazhar Jakhro, MD, will be joining South Coast Primary Care, No. Dartmouth, MA; Noelle Lee, MD, will be joining Visions Medical Center in Wellesley, MA; Margaret Lekander, MD, will be Precepting and Teaching at Notre Dame Ambulatory Center in Central Falls, RI; Argentina Leon, MD will practice at an urgent care center in Florida; Nadia Mujahid, MD will move on to a two-year Geriatric Fellowship at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University / Rhode Island Hospital; Venkat Munusamy, MD will move on to a Hospitalist position at Millinocket Regional Hospital in ME; Navira Rizwan, MD will be pursuing an outpatient family medicine position in New Jersey; Divjot Sooch, MD will join Memorial Hospital practices in Pawtucket & Plainville, MA; Srilakshmi Subramanian, MD will join JFK Family Medicine Residency in Edison, NJ as a faculty member; and Nicole Winters, MD will join a practice owned by Heywood Hospital in Gardner, MA.
New family medicine residents, who will see patients in the Family Care Center under the supervision of staff physicians, are: George Aghia, MD; Benjamin Bauer, MD; Elizabeth Brown, MD; Bianca Caetano, DO; Christopher Furey, MD; Priya Gupta, MD; Cortney Haynes, MD; Ashley Lakin, DO; Michael Levy, MD; Jonathan Mendelsohn, MD; Cameron Nienaber, MD; Julie Rombaut, MD; and Mary Beth Sutter, MD. Sara Delaporta, MD and Jensy Jacob, MD will serve as Co-Chief Residents in the coming year.
Additionally, the following faculty received awards at the ceremony: Arnold Goldberg, MD, Medical Director of Memorial’s Family Care Center, was honored with the Family Medicine Faculty Teacher of the Year Award. Sabrina Witherby, MD, Hematology/Oncology, was the recipient of the Family Medicine Consultant of the Year Award. Melissa Nothnagle, MD, was chose to receive the Department of Family Medicine Excellence in Education Award.  |
