Welcome to Maternal Child Health (MCH)!  
We at Memorial Hospital specialize in providing culturally competent, high quality healthcare to all women, especially underserved women.
About MCH at Memorial/Brown:
- 400 deliveries each year and growing
- High risk underserved patient population (with complications such as hypertension, pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes), etc.
- Unopposed program (no obstetrics or pediatric residents)
- Residents learn to perform general OB ultrasound, amniotic fluid index & biophysical profiles independently
- Residents are first call for deliveries, resuscitations & sick newborn evaluations, etc.
- First assist on c-sections
- Collegial, supportive relationship with the Department of Obstetrics at Memorial and Women and Infants
Education:
- 3 blocks of 4 weeks each
- Intermittent night call coverage
- Medical student elective/sub-internship exhibiting the family medicine model of obstetrics and gynecology
- Innovative learning opportunities (simulated obstetrical and neonatal emergencies, web modules), etc.
MCH fellowship program:
- One or two year positions available
- Two sites: one community based, the other tertiary care center based
- Opportunity to improve high risk obstetrical and neonatal skills (including c-section skills)
- Opportunity for faculty development activities
- Opportunity to earn an MPH degree from Brown University
