A member of the Behavioral Health Faculty, Ms. Rickler joined the department in 1996. She has extensive experience as an educator and clinician providing individual, family and group psycho-therapy for children, adolescents and adults. She is a Family Care Center preceptor and a consultant for the geriatric assessment program at Memorial Hospital of RI and for the Rhode Island Geriatric Education Consortium. Ms. Rickler teaches Family Medicine Residents, Internal Medicine Residents and Medical Students psycho-social evaluation and treatment and orients them to community resources. She co-leads a weekly resident Balint group and cancer patient and family support group. Ms. Rickler participates in the interdisciplinary team Group Medical Visit for patients and their families with the diagnosis of diabetes. She directs two resident block rotations devoted to behavioral health, psychiatry and the community. Ms. Rickler has taught in the Hematology/Oncology and Psychiatry departments at the Yale New Haven Hospital, The New England Medical Center and The Palo Alto Medical Foundation.
