Congratulations to Dr. Michael Fine upon receiving the Family Medicine Education Consortium (FMEC) annual “Family Medicine: The Power to Change Our World” award.
The award committee was very impressed with Dr. Fine’s accomplishments in a number of arenas: his demonstrated leadership within his private practice, local hospital systems and the state of Rhode Island. Through Health Access Rohde Island, Dr. Fine pioneered a new approach to service delivery that strengthens the physician-patient relationship. The Health Access model has inspired other leaders throughout the country. It has the potential to ensure care delivery to most patients particularly those without health insurance.
Dr. Fine will be presented with this award at the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine: Northeast Region Meeting in Rye Brook, New York, on Friday October 30, 2009. |
